A classic of science fiction. This work had originally appeared in "Harpers Magazine." 8vo. Measures 5x7. Original green cloth with brightly-illustrated front cover with argent, brown and gilt. Very light bumping to corners. Very light scuff at top/bottom of spine, no loosening of any text pages. Age-toning throughout but clean, tight and unmarked except for 1" penciled "First Edition" on front blank end page above brief gift inscription to "Harry C. Walker, Xmas 98." Overall Condition Very Good/Very Good+. Includes 52 plates with illustrations by Peter Newell--these plates were "inserted" using special papers and three of the 52 are now loose in book as seen in front page edge photo above. Spine panel is stamped in gold and is slightly sunned though all lettering clearly visible. THE GREAT STONE OF
